The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the ongoing Kogi West Senatorial Supplementary Election, Senator Dino Melaye, has vowed to go to court to challenge the result of the November 16 rerun election in the senatorial zone.
Melaye disclosed this after casting his ballot in Polling Unit 004, Ayetoro Ward 1 in Ijumu Local Government Area this morning.
Melaye repeated his demand for a review of the rerun election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), describing the result of the election as “a major fraud”.
The November 16 rerun senatorial election for Kogi west between Melaye and Senator Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared inconclusive by INEC, leading to today’s supplementary poll.
Today’s poll is being conducted in 20 registration areas consisting of 53 polling units.
45,767 voters are expected to participate in the process across the seven Local Government Areas in Kogi West.
