The man arrested for the murder of the Commandant of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, in Kaduna State sees himself as a freedom fighter.
Bernard Simon told reporters at a police parade on Wednesday that he single-handedly killed Navy Commander Oluwayemisi Ogundana because she did not allow him and other teachers at the school to make money outside their salaries.
He thought of how to fix the problem for everyone.
In the evening of September 22, Simon, who was close to Commander Oluyemisi Ogundana, sneaked into her house and smashed her head with an iron rod.
Thereafter, he dismembered the body and dumped it in a shallow well.
He said this much when he was paraded by the Kaduna State commissioner of police (CP) Ali Aji Janga, on Wednesday.
He told journalists that he single-handedly killed her.
According to the 36-year-old Simon, contrary to the claim by the police, he did not rape her to death.
His words: “I killed Commander Ogundana alone.
“I sneaked into her house in the evening and hit her on the head with an iron rod.
“I killed her because she was cheating us in the School.
“I am a teacher in the school and she was cheating us as staff under her.
“I killed her to set the whole staff of the school free from her cheats.
“There are some financial benefits she deprived us of.
“She denied me in particular of over N100,000.
“That is why I killed her to set myself and other staff free from her.”
