Husband Survives after Being Stabbed by Wife while Sleeping

A woman allegedly attempted to kill her husband today in Kaduna by stabbing him twice in the stomach while he was asleep.

The victim, identified as Yahaya Maiyaki, reportedly survived the attack and is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

NewsmakersNG learnt that the woman fled immediately after committing the act and her whereabout is still not known.

Police have reportedly begun a manhunt for the suspect.

The victim’s younger brother, Ahmed Maiyaki, who wrote about the incident on his Facebook page said it happened in the early hours of today.

He wrote: “At the early hours of today, my elder brother, Yahaya A Maiyaki (Danasabe) survived a murder attempt by his wife, Aisha.

“She stabbed him twice on the stomach. He is presently at the hospital while the suspect is at large.

“Already, the @PoliceNG has began investigations into the matter.”
