The Police in Ogun have narrated how five teenage suspects robbed and killed a 73-year-old businessman, Chief Moses Famuyiwa.

Late Famuyiwa was allegedly attacked by the suspects at one of his residences, in Arigbajo, Ifo local government area, on June14.

According to the police, the assailants, numbering about eight, broke into the residence at about 5am and held everybody hostage.

The police told Newsmakersng: “They overpowered the deceased and stabbed him on left arm, before making away with his bag, which contained N500,000 and two mobile phones.

“The deceased lost too much blood and died on the way to the hospital.

“Following a marching order by the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, the officer in charge of Ewekoro Police Division, Vincent Egwuonu, a Superintendent of Police, mobilised his men, who succeeded in apprehending five of the suspects.”

Police spokesman in the state, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the suspects had confessed to the crime. He gave their names as, Dare Abiodun (19), Femi Ayinla (17), Abduliamin Akinlotan (18), Jamiu Akeweje (19) and Gbenga Ojo (19).

Oyeyemi added that the suspects were being detained at the State Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta, the state capital, pending their arraignment.
