An academic, religious scholar and national Amir of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Nigeria, Dr. Mash’ud Adenrele Fashola has reiterated his belief in the ability of Journalists to liberate the world through truthful, concise and unbiased reports.
He spoke at the commissioning of the new Jamaat’ mosque in Agidingbi area of Lagos State.
In a chat with NEWSMAKERSNG, Dr. Fashola urged Nigerian Journalists to remain focused in ensuring factual and balanced reports that would promote peace and growth of the society.
He also enjoined Muslims to be true to their claim to worship through Solat; the five daily prayers, which should be a means of becoming a truly pious person. “Solat should make us to be the best of character. The meaning of the verses recited during Solat should reflect in our character and being the best in dealings with people around us,” he said.
Speaking on leadership, he called on Nigerians to elect righteous people who have the fear of God into offices.
“Religion should unite us because all divine religion enjoins goodness, love and unity. It is people who have selfish interests that are wrongly exploiting religion to cause chaos. We should not allow them.”
The Circuit Missioner, Agege/Agidingbi axis, Ustadh AbdulFattah Edun expressed the Jamaat’s joy over the newly commissioned mosque which reinforced the Jamaat’s presence in the area.
The Circuit President, Alhaji Bashir Towolawi went down memory lane on the many struggles to get the new befitting edifice and commended all those who contributed to achieve the lofty goals.
