How Gunmen Killed 13 Family Members in Kogi —CP

Malik Yahya/

Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Ede Ayuba, has narrated how suspected bandits killed 14 people, including 13 members of the same family, in a dawn attack in Agudu, Kogi/Kotonkarfe Local Government Area of Kogi State, yesterday.

Ayuba, while briefing journalists on the activities of the command, said six other persons were injured by the attackers.

He said the bandits had left by the time his officers got to the village, adding that normalcy had been restored to the area.

The police boss noted that the attack could have been triggered by age-long communal disputes in the community.

He stated, “A man and 12 family members were killed. His son is the only survivor. Another person was killed, while those injured have been taken to the hospital.”
