The police in Lagos have told how two University graduates from same parents drowned at Ibeshe Beach on Christmas Day.
The victims, 26-year-old Femi Adegboyega and Ibukun Adegboyega (23) were residing at Festac Town in Lagos.
They were also identified as the nephews of a frontline financier of Yoruba causes, Chief Rotimi Osuntola.
According to the Lagos State police spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, someone reported to the police that the incident happened at about 6 p.m., when the brothers were swimming with their friends.
Hundeyin said that friends and local divers made fruitless rescue efforts, and police detectives visited the scene much later but the bodies could not be found.
Before now, the last reported death at Ibeshe Beach was that of a Catholic Priest, Rev. Francis Alex Okafor, who drowned at the beach during a send-forth party organised in his honour.
