How a Church Caused Coronavirus Infection to Skyrocket in South Korea

Harvey Olufunmilayo/

From the 20th January to 17th February, South Korea had 30 (coronavirus) cases and they seemed to be on top of things.

Until the 31st case on 18 February. This lady was a member of a secret church which had over 200,000 members.

What the authorities found out was even while this lady was unwell with symptoms, she kept going for worship services- and in the last 10 days before coming to hospital, she went for at least two services which had over 1,000 people in attendance each service.

Just imagine that!

Now in that same church – they see sickness as a sin and they avoid hospital. So many of them got the virus, were showing symptoms and kept going to church giving each other as well as their families at home.

And within two weeks, over 4,000 members tested positive for coronavirus.

The South Korean authorities charged the church leaders with “murder and causing of harm”.
