Housemaid who Drugged, Robbed Employers Allegedly Escapes from Police Custody

A Twitter user has sought the help of the public to locate her friend’s former housemaid who allegedly escaped from custody at a police station in Lekki, Lagos after she was arrested for drugging and robbing her employers.

She claimed that the fleeing maid, who gave her name as Joy, drugged the entire household of her mistress before fleeing with their valuables.

The Police Complaints Unit however replied to her tweet via its handle, @PoliceNG_CRU, advising her to report the incident at the nearest police station.

She then replied that they had done so and the suspect was arrested but managed to escape from custody.

Responding to another Twitter user who queried how the suspect managed to escape from custody, she said that only the Lekki police station could provide an answer to the question.
