The Isreal Defense Force (IDF) has claimed that Hamas militants operating in Gaza have fired no fewer than 300 rockets into Isreal in the last 18 hours.
According to a post on its Twitter handle, IDF said Hamas was firing rockets into Isreal at the rate of one in three minutes.
It said one of the rockets struck an apartment building in Ashkelon, a town in southern Isreal, in the early hours of today, injuring six civilians.
The IDF disclosed that Isreali troops have retaliated by hitting a number of targets in Gaza overnight, killing 15 Hamas terrorists in the process.
“We have killed 15 Hamas terrorists and struck 130 Hamas and Islamic Jihad terror targets in Gaza overnight, incl: 2 attack tunnels, a Hamas military intel facility and weapons manufacturing and storage sites,” the IDF said in another tweet.
It added that Isreali troops also struck a squad of Hamas terrorists operating anti-tank missiles in Gaza, this morning.
