Guns Boom in Festac Town as Soldiers Search for ‘Abducted’ Officer

A staccato of gunshots from soldiers rent the air at the Abule-Ado area of Festac town, in Lagos today, amid reports that a military officer had been abducted by kidnappers.

Although the police authorities are yet to give the situation report, words are already out that one Lieutenant was abducted at the weekend and soldiers with the support of members of Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) were making efforts to rescue him after receiving intelligence report that the abductors could be hiding in the area.

According to reports, there were heavy shootings on 6th and 7th Avenue, at Festac Town, by soldiers who allegedly arrived at the area in search of the officer.
