Gunmen Murder Retired General in Abuja Home

The police in Abuja have launched investigation into the murder of a retired brigadier general in his Abuja home yesterday.

According to a statement from the FCT Police Command, retired brigadier general of the Nigerian Army, Uwem Harold Udokwe, was brutally murdered in his home yesterday by gunmen suspected to be armed robbers.

The statement issued by FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, says the victim was killed at his Sunshine Homes Estate at about 3 am on Saturday.

She stated that upon the receipt of the report of the incident, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh, “ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding this regrettable event”.

The PPRO stated that the CP, who expressed condolences to the victim’s family, assured them and the public of swift justice.
