No fewer than 10 passengers including the driver of an 18-seater bus were yesterday abducted along Akure-Ikere Ekiti road by unknown gunmen.
The bus was travelling to Akure from Ado-Ekiti when it was ambushed at one of the bad spots on the road and the passengers whisked away to an unknown destination in the forest.
NewsmakersNG learnt that the matter was reported at the Ita Ogbolu Police Division, which is closest to the location of the incident.
However, the Ondo State Police Command said today that only one person was abducted.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, who identified the victim as Felix Akinde, said the incident happened while the victim was travelling to Akure from Ado Ekiti.
The PPRO said in a statement that the abduction took place few metres away from the National Youth Service Corps farm in Ita Ogbolu, but noted that no serving corps member was involved in the incident.
