A gunman in the United States (US) has shot to death the new wife of Ghanaian actor and on-air personality, Chris Attoh.
Bettie Jenifer was killed at about 5:30 pm on Friday, in the parking lot of her office building at Maryland, where a man had approached her and pumped bullets into her head at close range.
The late Jenifer got married to Attoh seven months ago at a private event at North Kaneshie, Accra, Ghana, after the actor, best known as ‘Kwame Mensah’ in Nigerian soap opera – Tinsel, divorced his Nigerian wife, Damilola Adegbite, who had a son for him – Brian.
Last week, Attoh, however, sparked speculation on social media that all was not well with his second marriage after he deleted all of Bettie’s pictures from his social media pages.
NewsmakersNG learnt that Jenifer had left the office in the 6300 blocks of Ivy Lane and was walking to her car when the man armed with a handgun waylaid her.
American Journalist, Jackie Bensen, who worked for NBC4 also confirmed the incident in her tweet.
Police from the Greenbelt Police Department reportedly said the man fled in a vehicle after shooting her.
The police have described the killer as “a black male with a thick build and black hair, wearing a dark shirt and pants”.
