Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) has announced the 16th edition of its annual Autism Conference, reaffirming its long-standing commitment to raising awareness, promoting inclusion and providing practical support for children and adults living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The conference, organised under the bank’s Orange Ribbon Initiative, will bring together renowned local and international specialists, behavioural analysts, psychiatrists, therapists, educators and autism advocates to share the latest knowledge, practical interventions and evidence-based strategies for supporting individuals on the autism spectrum.
According to the organisers, the event is designed to equip parents, caregivers, teachers, healthcare professionals and policymakers with the tools needed to improve early diagnosis, intervention and long-term support for people living with autism.
Beyond the conference sessions, participants will also have access to free one-on-one consultations with multidisciplinary specialists covering behavioural therapy, developmental paediatrics, psychiatry, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and other essential support services.
The programme features an impressive lineup of experts from Nigeria, Canada and the United States, including internationally recognised behaviour analysts, psychiatrists, clinicians and autism advocates who will address emerging trends in autism management, family support, inclusive education and community participation.
GTBank said the annual conference remains one of Africa’s largest autism advocacy platforms and reflects the institution’s belief that meaningful inclusion requires sustained public awareness, professional collaboration and accessible support services for families.
Since its launch in 2009, the Orange Ribbon Initiative has evolved from a small awareness campaign into a major continental platform that has educated thousands of parents, professionals and caregivers while helping to reduce stigma surrounding autism and other developmental disorders.
