Socio-cultural group, CMC Gladiators, has congratulated the first female spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, CSP Ngozi Braide, on her latest posting as head of IGP Monitoring Unit, FHQ, Lagos Annex.

The group described the posting as putting a square peg in a square hole, and also challenged Braide to justify the confidence reposed in her by the police hierarchy.

Speaking in an interview in Lagos yesterday, President of the group, Mr. Cornell Udofia, commended the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, for finding Braide fit for such a high profile job and sensitive policing job.

According to Udofia, the IGP “is actually putting right pegs in right holes for him to have approved the posting of the celebral first female PPRO, Lagos State Command and fraud detector, CSP Ngozi Braide, as OC IGP Monitoring Unit. This shows that he knows what he is doing and I pray God almighty will continue to give him more wisdom to protect Nigerian citizens”.

Udofia described Braide, a two-time CMC Gladiators award winner and a Matron of the group, as an easygoing but no nonsense police officer who successfully participated in two United Nations Peace Keeping Operations; with UNMIK Kosovo where she was appointed to head the Domestic Violence Unit and in Liberia where she was appointed Head of the Finance Unit of the United Nations Police in that country.

He also expressed the confidence that her four-year stint with the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) where she also garnered experience in dealing with Organized Crime as well as other relevant postings within the Nigeria Police Force would serve her well in her new assignment.
