Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, yesterday paid a condolence visit to the family of Ola Oyeshina, an official of the Lagos State Transport Management Authority (LASTMA) who was killed while on duty last week.
Tweeting about the visit via his handle, @jidesanwoolu, the governor wrote: “I was at Oni St, Surulere to visit the family of Ola Oyeshina Ganiu, a @followlastma officer who was assaulted and lost his life while performing his duties.
“We condemn these attacks on state workers trying to do their bit to make our state better. May his soul rest in peace.”
Oyeshina was reportedly attacked by two hoodlums in Apapa area of the state.
The hoodlums, who were arraigned before a state high court for the offence yesterday, allegedly threw a large stone at him where he was controlling traffic at Iganmu-Sifax area.
He died the following morning at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba.
