The 2026 governorship election in Osun State has become a prophetic battleground as Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has declared that Governor Ademola Adeleke will secure a second term, describing his victory as divinely ordained.

The cleric also revealed that his relationship with former governor Adegboyega Oyetola soured after he warned him about losing the 2022 election, a prophecy Oyetola reportedly disregarded.

Speaking at an empowerment programme organised by the church in Lagos, Primate Ayodele emphasised that Governor Adeleke’s humility and faith have positioned him for another victory in 2026.

The event was attended by notable figures, including a representative of Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo and Senator Abiodun Olujimi from Ekiti State.

Recounting his first encounter with Adeleke in 2017, Primate Ayodele narrated how he accurately predicted Adeleke’s win in the 2018 election, though the victory was overturned.

“In 2018, I visited your house and told you that you would win but not ascend to the seat. When it happened, I thanked God for His revelation,” he said.

The prophet praised Adeleke’s leadership and assured him that his reelection in 2026 is certain, irrespective of the challenges posed by the opposition.

“Governor Adeleke, you are divinely anointed for a second term. Even if APC fields Oyetola or any other candidate, they will lose. If President Tinubu himself campaigns for Oyetola, it won’t change the outcome,” he declared.

Primate Ayodele disclosed that his friendship with Oyetola ended because the former governor refused to heed his warning about losing the 2022 election.

“Oyetola was my friend, but he ignored God’s message. That was the end of our relationship. If he contests again, it will be a red card for him,” the cleric stated.

Advising Adeleke against leaving the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Ayodele affirmed that the party has been divinely chosen to retain power in Osun State.

“Stay in PDP; it is God’s anointed platform for Osun. Your enemies will be shamed, and your reign will continue,” he assured.

The governor, who was described as “the happiest governor in Africa,” later laid the foundation for a low-cost housing project initiated by the church and witnessed the presentation of empowerment items to beneficiaries.
