Leading gospel artiste, Asu Ekiye, has called for the arrest of Peter Nwachukwu, husband of Ekwueme crooner, Osinachi Nwachukwu, following rumours that she died as a result of domestic violence.

The social media has been awash with claims that gospel singer, Osinachi, who shot into fame with the song titled, Ekwueme, had suffered a series of physical abuses in the hands of her husband before her death yesterday.

It was further claimed that she had landed in the hospital as a result of the life-threatening injuries she suffered from the latest round of abuse before she finally gave up the ghost.

Ekiye, in a Facebook post, today, titled, “Arrest the Husband of Osinachi Now,” wrote, “If what I hear about domestic abuse is anything to go by, then I hereby endorse the call to arrest of the husband of Osinachi immediately for questioning.”

Aside from Ekiye, another popular gospel musician, Frank Edwards, has claimed he was aware there was a long history of domestic violence between the late artiste and her husband.

Edwards, who also shared his knowledge on Facebook, wrote, “So that unreasonable human being finally put off a shining light. I won’t say much now. I’ll let the former NDDC director (Aunty Joy), who did everything possible to stop this from happening talk first. But it still happened. We tried to stop this.”
