GOCOP to Hold 2024 Annual Conference in Kogi State on October 3

The Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP) has announced that its 2024 annual conference will take place in Kogi State on Thursday, October 3.

According to a statement released by GOCOP’s Publicity Secretary, Sir Remmy Nweke, the event marks a significant milestone as it will be the first time the conference is hosted by a state. The 2024 Conference Planning Committee, chaired by Danlami Nmodu mni, and Secretary, Mr. Olumide Iyanda, disclosed that this year’s event is the 8th edition in the series.

The conference theme, “Nigeria: Tackling Insecurity, Power Deficit, and Transitioning to Digital Economy,” reflects the pressing security and power challenges currently facing the nation.

A highly respected technocrat, known for his expertise in power management from generation through transmission to distribution, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address. Additionally, two distinguished guest speakers with deep knowledge in the digital economy and security sectors have confirmed their participation.

In previous editions, notable speakers have included Rev. Matthew Hassan Kukah, Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, who in 2019 spoke on “Economy, Security and National Development: The Way Forward,” and Mr. Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, who addressed the 2021 conference on the theme, “Post Covid-19 Pandemic: Recovery and Reconstruction in Nigeria.”

The 2022 conference featured Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), with a keynote titled “2023 Elections: Managing the Process for Credible Outcome.” Last year’s conference, held in Abuja, was themed “Nigeria: Roadmap for Socio-Economic Recovery and Sustainability,” and was chaired by Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), with Professor Uche Uwaleke, a Professor of Capital Market, delivering the keynote.

Preparations are well underway to ensure the success of the 2024 conference. Further details will be released as the event date approaches.
