The Superintendent of the Christ Chosen Church of God in Bariga, Lagos has condemned the recession the country is experiencing as a man-inflicted problem.
Pastor Femi Adeotu spoke at the church’s annual Harvest Thanksgiving Service in Lagos.
He revealed that as a way of overcoming the challenges the country is facing, Nigerians should turn to God and cultivate the harvest of sacrifice and giving.
He said: “Economists have propounded theories on how to overcome recession, but before these theorists, God has already given his policies and strategies to His children to have dominion over the world. One of God’s strategies is giving and harvest is one of the ways God designed for His children to be blessed through their giving. The way of the world is to withhold what one has during recession, but the way of God is to give bountifully. Actually, there is no recession or poverty. People are poor because they chose to be poor.”
Also commenting on the importance of harvest to Christians, elder Gift Nyeche, the secretary of the harvest committee stated that when Christians express their faith in God through their giving, God always provide for them.
