Matilda Omonaiye/

A young lady left many in shock when she abandoned her drowning boyfriend in a swimming pool in Lagos and fled.

The incident, according to an eyewitness, took place at a hotel in Ajao Estate, on Sunday afternoon.

He said the unidentified lovers and one other person that seemed like a mutual friend were having fun in the swimming pool when the victim swam to the deep end of the pool.

He said it was another observant guest who suddenly noticed that the victim’s head had not been visible for a while and raised the alarm that attracted the attention of others.

The victim, according to him, had become unresponsive by the time he was brought out of the pool but was eventually revived after about 30 minutes of first aid therapy including mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

He said it was afterwards that they all realised that the victim’s girlfriend had disappeared from the scene.
