Ghana Claims Dangote

Nigeria’s claim to Africa’s richest man is being challenged in Ghana.

Guess who Ghana’s African Richest Man is:

It’s Alhaji Aliko Dangote!

A post by a top Ghanaian journalist claiming that Dangote is “half-Ghanaian” is now trending.

The story published by yen.com.gh says Dangote, whose net worth stands at $14.3billion, has his roots traced to Asante Mampong in the Ashanti region, where he begun life in a very humble and quiet way.

It says: “In fact, it is also believed that his big break happened when he relocated to his father’s country of Nigeria where he was further challenged to birth his dream and also become one of the world’s most influential personalities. With a real net worth of $14.3 billion dollars as of 2017, Dangote remains one of the business men whose fortunes outweighs the gross domestic product of most African economies.”
