Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele-Bello and her husband, AbdulRasheed Bello, have been sentenced to 14-day community service by a Chief Magistrates’ Court 1 in Ogba, Lagos.
The duo were charged with violation of the COVID-19 restriction order in Lagos State by organising a birthday party at their residence in Lekki area of the state on Saturday.
The couple pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs Aje Afunwa, also ordered them to pay N100,000 fine, adding that failure to comply with any aspect of the ruling would attract stiffer penalty.
The judge said the couple must spend three hours of each day of the community service, excluding Saturday and Sunday, visiting 10 important public places within Lagos State to educate the public on the consequences of non compliance with the restriction order.
He further directed that they must submit the names and phone numbers of every person who attended the party, all of whom shall be quarantined by the state government, alongside the couple, to determine their COVID-19 status.
