A leading light in Pest and Disease Management Studies in Nigeria, Dr. (Mrs) C.E. Airede received a surprise package from friends and family members who celebrated her 70th birthday with a feast at the Radisson in Ikeja, Lagos, on May 13, 2023.
Dressed in a vintage beige V-neck puff-sleeve lace gown trimmed with peach-colored flower-applique rolling like a garland from the neck down, Dr. Airede could easily pass for a blooming young beauty queen.
The birthday lunch was a closely guarded secret. The erudite scholar knew nothing about it until she arrived at the venue, a cozy hall with a serenading ambiance where she was warmly received and celebrated by a host of friends, family members, and associates.
