The walls came tumbling down again in Lagos today as another building reportedly collapsed trapping four persons.

The building at 12 Egerton Square, in Oke Arin area of Lagos, collapsed Monday afternoon.

The incident would be the third time in one week that buildings are collapsing on Lagos Island. The first one claimed 20 lives, mostly children attending school on the second floor of the three-storey building.

Lagos State Emergency Management Agency confirmed it through its official Twitter account.

“The officials were on top of the building when some scavengers tried to remove the doors on the ground floor and the remaining parts of the building collapsed on them,” one of the tweets stated.

It added that four men sustained minor injuries and had been taken to the Lagos General Hospital for treatment.

NewsmakersNG, however, learnt state authorities that the four men were labourers hired by Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) officials.
