The family of Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu, former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President of the Senate, has announced the passing of his wife, Mrs. Aishat Odunayo Olaniyonu.
According to a statement issued by the family, Mrs Olaniyonu died on Tuesday morning, October 14, 2025, corresponding to the 22nd of Rabiul Thaani, 1447 AH. She was aged 52.
In the statement signed by her son, Oladapo Olaniyonu, the family expressed deep sorrow while submitting to the will of Almighty Allah, saying: “With total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, wife, and sister, Aishat Odunayo Olaniyonu. We say Alhamdulillah for a life well lived.”
The family also cited the Holy Qur’an (2:155–156), affirming faith in divine will:
“Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.”
Late Mrs. Olaniyonu is survived by her husband, Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu; her children – Oladapo, Oladipo, and Oladepo; her aged mother; and siblings.
She will be laid to rest at the Muslim Cemetery, Adigbe, Abeokuta, on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
Friends, associates, and well-wishers have continued to send condolence messages to the Olaniyonu family, remembering the deceased as a devoted wife, loving mother, and woman of faith.
