A former President of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), and former National Treasurer of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Alhaja Fatimah Abdulkareem, has condoled with the family of the former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, over his death.
In a condolence message, Abdulkareem said Ajimobi made his own contributions to the development of Oyo State and the advancement of democracy in the country during his lifetime.
“God knows why He took him now though we wanted him around for a longer period of time. May the good Lord protect his widow, Mrs Florence Ajimobi and all the children and grandchildren he left behind”
She urged the children of the deceased to uphold the legacy that their father established in his lifetime and prayed that “Allah will forgive Senator Ajimobi’s sins and grant him Aljannah firdaus”.
“The year 2020 can never be forgotten in the history of Oja’ba in particular, Ibadan in general and Oyo State as a whole. The death of the immediate past governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi on Thursday, June 25 is one death two many at this crucial period in our political space,” he further noted.
Abdulkareem also commiserated with the people of Ibadan, Oyo State and the entire Yorubaland over the “irreparable loss”.
