The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the sudden death of retired Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang, in an Abuja hotel room, shortly after hosting an unidentified female guest.

In a statement by SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, the Command debunked earlier reports claiming that Parradang was kidnapped and killed after visiting a bank in Abuja.

According to the police, Parradang checked into Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, on Monday, March 3, 2025, at around noon.

He arrived in a black Mercedes Benz and paid N22,000 for a one-night stay.

Later that day, he was visited by a female guest, who was escorted to his room by a hotel attendant. The guest left the premises around 4pm, after which Parradang did not come out of his room.

The discovery of his death came the following morning when a concerned military officer, said to be his friend, arrived at the hotel to check on him.

Along with the hotel receptionist, the officer entered his room and found him lifeless, seated in a chair.

Police officers from Durumi Police Station were called to the scene, where they secured the area, documented evidence, and took photographs to aid the investigation. The body was later moved to the National Hospital for an autopsy.

The police also disclosed that efforts are underway to track and apprehend the female guest, whose identity remains unknown.

In their statement, the FCT Police Command urged the public and media outlets to refrain from spreading unverified information, including claims of kidnapping, which they described as misleading and potentially panic-inducing.

The Command assured the public of a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Parradang’s death and emphasised their commitment to justice.
