Plans by the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu, to make every officer a picture of good health has been activated in Zone XI by the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Leye Oyebade.

Working in line with the directive of the IGP that police officers should engage in regular sporting activities to be mentally and physically fit, Oyebade led officers and men of the Zonal Headquarters to participate in weekly sporting activities at the Zonal Command Headquarters, Osogbo on Wednesday.

The AIG who expressed satisfaction with the level of turn out, stressed the importance of sports in the overall well-being of individuals. He stressed that a healthy policeman would, no doubt, be an asset to the Force. He admonished police officers to ensure regular participation in the exercise, assuring that the IGP would continue to promote sports development in the Nigeria Police Force.

He also assured that efforts were underway to upgrade sport facilities in the zone within available resources, using public partnership.
