First Bank Manager Arrested over Theft of Customers’ N650m

The Police in Osun have held a branch manager of First Bank Plc in Osogbo, Mr Adeniyi Sunday Talabi, over the theft of N650, 850, 000 belonging to 35 customers of the bank.

According to Osun State police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, the suspect perpetrated the fraud by obtaining the money under false pretenses and stealing the amount through an illegal transaction called proof of funds.

Opalola said that the suspect had been suspended by the bank and an investigation into the case was in progress. She added that Talabi and his accomplices would be charged to court upon completion of investigation by the police.
