The Lagos State Police Command has appealed to members of the public to help identify the family of an 83-year-old man, Mr. Oriowo Gabriel, who was found alone and is currently in protective police custody after repeated efforts to locate his relatives failed.
According to the Command, the elderly man was rescued by a compassionate member of the public and taken to the Ipaja Police Division, where he has since been receiving care and protection.
Police authorities disclosed that Mr. Gabriel provided addresses believed to be linked to his family, but officers who visited the locations were unable to find anyone who recognised him or provide any information about his relatives.
With all investigative efforts yielding no breakthrough, the Command is now calling on residents and the general public to assist in tracing his family or anyone who may know him.
The police urged anyone with useful information that could help reunite Mr. Gabriel with his loved ones to immediately contact the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ipaja Division, on +234 803 799 3827.
The Command expressed optimism that public cooperation would help bring the elderly man back to his family and ensure he is reunited with his loved ones as quickly as possible.
