The Federal Government has revealed plans to stop medical practitioners in public hospitals from engaging in private practice.

Health Minister, Prof. Isaac Adewole, disclosed this at the end of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting in Abuja on Wednesday.
.
Adewole told state house correspondents that a technical committee had been set up to look at the Yayale Ahmed committee report on the health sector.

The report was compiled by a panel set up by former President Goodluck Jonathan to look into “unhealthy rivalries” among healthcare professionals.

Ahmed, a former Head of Service of the Federation, had noted while submitting the report that the panel identified 50 areas of conflict after receiving memoranda and interacting with about 40 professional bodies in the public health sector.
