The federal government, through the Federal Housing Authority (FHA), has concluded plans to construct 868 housing units in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

Managing Director of the FHA, Senator Gbenga Ashafa, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to Governor Seyi Makinde in Ibadan yesterday.

Ashafa was accompanied on the visit by the FHA’s Executive Director, Business Development, Hon. Abdulmumin Jubrin.

The visit to the governor was aimed at ensuring that all essential stakeholders are carried along in order to guarantee the overall success of the project.

According to the Senator, who represented Lagos East in the Eighth National Assembly, the FHA’s delegation also sought “the partnership and support of the Oyo State Government in the area of provision of infrastructure, in order to open up new areas for more development opportunities for public housing”.

Ashafa said the 868 housing units, located at the FHA’s Ajoda-Ibadan Housing Project site, is being undertaken under President Muhammadu Buhari administration’s Social Housing Programme for Low and Medium Income Earners.

Ashafa and his team also inspected the FHA project site in Ajoda to assess the level of preparedness.

He explained that the inspection marked the commencement of his management’s tour of estates and project sites in the south-west.
