The US FBI Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has offered a $10,000 reward for any information that could help the agency unravel the mystery behind a series of laser attacks on commercial aircrafts at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, in Seattle, Washington.

The FBI disclosed this in a notice shared on its social media platforms today.

According to the agency, aircrafts landing at the airport have experienced a green laser illuminating and tracking their cockpits while approaching the runways. It adds that this portends danger for flight crew, passengers and those living in the vicinity.

It said anyone with useful information could reach out to FBI through phone or email or contact the nearest US Embassy or Consulate.

The notice reads, “Did you know that Seattle-Tacoma International Airport has seen an influx in laser incidents involving commercial aircraft trying to land at the Washington state travel hub?

“Pilots landing at SeaTac have experienced a green laser illuminating and tracking their aircrafts’ cockpits while approaching the airport’s runways.

“Lasers pointed at an aircraft can interfere with landing and can increase the risk of injury to flight crew, passengers, and citizens within the local area. Learn more at https://go.usa.gov/xurpr.
