A viral video has shown that counterfeits of the newly-launched N1,000 notes are now in circulation.
Based on the directive of the Central Bank of Nigeria, banks released the redesigned notes on December 15, 2022.
Days after the release, the husband of an unnamed Point of Sale operator revealed in the video the fake N1,000 notes in circulation.
He said the notes were given by a customer to his wife.
He then showed the world the difference between the original and fake N1,000 notes.
