The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has explained the criteria for which an individual can get tested for coronavirus in the country.
In a series of tweets on its handle this evening, the Centre also highlighted the procedure anyone wishing to get tested for the virus must follow.
It gave tge criteria for getting tested as follow:
“Anyone with history of travel outside of Nigeria, who presents with fever, cough or difficulty breathing within 14 days of arrival.
“Anyone who comes in contact with a confirmed case who presents with these symptoms within 14 days of contact.”
As for the procedure for getting tested, it stated:
“Call your state hotline or NCDC on 080097000010.
“Stay at home and wait for further instructions.
“The state team will arrange for sample collection and transportation from your location to the lab.
“Remain in self-isolation while testing is on.”
The NCDC added that there is no payment for laboratory diagnosis of COVID19 in Nigeria.
