The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has banned passengers from carrying MacBook Pro Laptop on all flights operating within the country.
In a statement dated September 25 and addressed to ‘All Operators and Service Providers’, the agency said the ban was with immediate effect.
The statement, which was exclusively obtained by NewsmakersNG, was signed by the Director of Operations and Training, Captain A.M. Sidi, on behalf of the agency’s Director-General.
The statement explains that the decision was based on the fact that the device had been confirmed to have a battery problem, which causes overheating thus posing risk to aviation safety.
