Minister of Interior, Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, former Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Owo, Professor Femi Mimiko; and former All Progressives Congress governorship aspirant in Ondo State and Executive Vice Chairman, Ala Resort, Mr. Moyosola Niran-Oladunni, are among 11 distinguished Ondo State indigenes to be honoured by the 1994/95 graduating set of Ondo State State University (now known as Ekiti State University), Ado-Ekiti.

According to a release by the alumni association, the award is to recognise the good works, exemplary achievements and positive impact the awardees have had on the society and humanity as a whole, and for being worthy ambassadors of Ex-Osuaites/94/95 set.

Tunji-Ojo is to be honoured with the award of ‘Outstanding Leadership in Politics’, Mimiko with ‘Outstanding Leadership in Academics’ and Niran-Oladunni with ‘Outstanding Leadership in Humanity’.

Other awardees are, Professor Afolabi Popoola (Outstanding Leadership in Academics), Hon. Olayato Aribo (Outstanding Leadership in Business and Politics), Hon. Oyerinmade Matthew (Outstanding Leadership in Humanity) and Chief Emmanuel Afolayan (Outstanding Leadership in Human Management).

Others include, Mr. Alade James (Outstanding Leadership in Humanity Management), Mrs. Bolake Falua (Outstanding Leadership in Human Management), Mr. Obayelu Olatunde (Outstanding Leadership in Humanity) and Engr. Gboye Adegbenro (Outstanding Leadership in Business and Politics).

The event will hold in Akure, Ondo State capital, on October 28.

It will witness an award lecture, entitled, ‘Democracy and Economy in Nigeria: Benefits, Problems and Way forward’, to be jointly delivered by Professor Femi Mimiko and Professor Afolabi Popoola.
