The Speaker of Enugu State House of Assembly, Chief Edward Ubosi, has called on residents of the state to be security conscious.
Ubosi made the call during the house plenary session on Tuesday.
He said that people should shun acts capable of escalating the security situation in the state.
He urged the youths not to allow themselves to be used to cause mayhem in a state that is known for peace.
He said that the call became necessary following some security breaches being experienced in different parts of the state.
He charged his colleagues to sensitize and caution their constituents, especially the youths, to stop engaging in the destruction of lives and property.
The speaker spoke against the backdrop of Sunday’s attack on the Inyi Police Station in Oji River Local Government Area (LGA) by gunmen.
The assailants burnt down the station and killed an APC Youth Leader in Igbo-Eze North LGA.
