Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and Other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA) has issued a stern nationwide alert following the brutal assassination of Brigadier General Musa Uba and his troops in Borno State, calling the tragedy a turning point that demands immediate and decisive government action.

In a statement on Tuesday, the organisation said the killing of the senior officer and his men, described as fathers, brothers, husbands, and national protectors, had created “a devastating void” and must not be allowed to pass as another statistic in Nigeria’s long war against terrorism.

PSNAFSA noted that while the nation was celebrating the “miraculous” rescue of kidnapped students and worshippers, the joy was overshadowed by the bloodshed in Borno, insisting that the sacrifice of the fallen heroes should ignite a unified national response.

The body demanded urgent re-armament of troops on the frontlines, urging the Federal Government to immediately equip security forces with modern tools, platforms, and logistics “required for total battlefield dominance.”

It also called for a full-scale crackdown on the financiers and sponsors of terrorism, warning that Nigeria cannot achieve peace until those who bankroll insurgents are unmasked, exposed, and prosecuted.

“There can be no lasting peace while these merchants of violence operate with impunity,” the statement, signed by PSNAFSA Convener, Ambassador Mary Abayomi Fatile, stressed.

PSNAFSA further appealed to Nigerians to stand “shoulder-to-shoulder” with the Armed Forces through prayers, vigilance, cooperation, and moral support, reminding citizens that national security is a shared responsibility.

It also urged the media to act with “supreme national responsibility” by halting the publicity that boosts the morale of terrorists, insisting that amplifying their atrocities only fuels fear and emboldens criminal networks.

Reaffirming its commitment to advocacy and intercession on behalf of security agencies, the organisation declared: “Enough is enough. The protection of Nigerian lives must be the supreme and non-negotiable national priority, transcending all political agendas. The time for decisive action is now.”
