He commended Ajogun for his leadership and “exemplary traits of a 21st century law enforcement agent”.

He stated: “It needs to be added that the Commissioner of Police deserves special commendation for personally exhibiting traits of a refined officer particularly on his handling of the situation at Ake Palace where he was personally attacked, whereas a negative reaction could have aggravated heated tension. Instead, he displayed leadership and magnanimous act that even saw many protesters calming one another.”

Youths across the country have been staging protest marches against incessant brutalities SARS officers, calling for an abrupt end to the unit which was acceded to with immediate disbandment and subsequent directive of President Muhammadu Buhari to reform the entire Police organisation.

The Chairman whose previous statements had condemned the brutality of SARS officers appealed to youth formations across the State to suspend all forms of protests on #EndSARS to allow for the reform while assuring them of protection of their rights at all times.

“You will recall that in my previous releases, I had expressed my dissatisfaction on the manhandling of our young people by SARS and call for a total reform of the Force, I, therefore, appeal to all our indefatigable Comrades and entire youth constituency across the State to put all forms of protest on #EndSARS on hold to allow for the reform as directed by the President. We shall, God willing, continue to stand up for the protection and rights of all youths. And we will not hesitate to return to the streets when we feel deceived or betrayed by the presidential directive.”
