Yeni Anikulapo-Kuti has joggled the memories of Nigerians today on how her father, the late Afrobeat King, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, was brutalized by policemen in his days.
To mark Fela’s 82nd post-humous birthday today, Yeni posted the picture on her Facebook page with this message: “October 15th. A great man was born! Honouring him today! #endpolicebrutality. Picture of Fela after being brutalized by the Police #endpolicebrutality.”
Fela’s evergreen songs are also being played across the world during the widespread protests against Nigeria Police brutality that is in its ninth day today.
