The Lagos State Panel of Judicial Inquiry probing the alleged abuses of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and shooting of #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki tollgate on the night of October 20 was forced to suspend sitting today due to the absence of a youth member of the panel, Oluwarinu Oduala, popularly called Rinu.

Rinu, who is one of the arrowheads of the #EndSARS protests, was absent at today’s sitting in protest against the freezing of her bank account by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The apex bank had reportedly obtained a court order freezing the accounts of 20 #EndSARS promoters till January 2021.

The order was pursuant to a motion ex parte filed by the CBN before a Federal High Court in Abuja.

The chairman of the judicial panel, retired Justice Doris Okuwobi, said the panel would have to suspend today’s sitting as it could not form a quorum due to Rinu’s absence.
