The Federal High Court, Abuja, is expected to rule on an application filed by the Central Bank Governor (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, asking it to determine whether or not he could remain in office while running for president.
The suit was filed today by one by Maliki Sylvanus, a senior counsel in the chambers of Mr Mike Ozekhome (SAN).
The CBN Act prohibits the governor from taking up any other assignment or vocational work and Emefiele has come under intense public pressure to resign from office if he wishes to contest in next year’s presidential election.
But, in his lawsuit against INEC and the attorney-general of the federation, Emefiele contended that he will suffer “irreparable damage” if he is not allowed to run for president while serving as the central bank governor.
That means all this while the government have been toying with the masses.its now we know that CBN governor is APC member in that case they have been sneaking ballot papers to APC to tumprint before election.Hmmmmm he should resign if he wants to contest as president of Nigeria. No wonder naira doesn’t have value and $ keep increasing.
