Suspected killers of a bank agent in Ogun State have been held by the police.
The suspects allegedly killed the agent identified as Awodiran Sunday on Sunday, May 14, 2017.
According to a statement by the state police spokesman, ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the 38-year-old victim from Ekiti State was on his way home from work when he was attacked and killed at Lambe junction, Alausa Village, in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun at about 9:45 pm.
He was allegedly dispossessed of a cash sum of N200, 000, some recharge cards and ATM cards, after which he was stabbed to death.

Oyeyemi said, “The case was reported to the Police at Ajuwon Divisional headquarters and the DPO SP Kazeem Afolabi was given a marching order by the Commissioner of Police, (CP) Ahmed Iliyasu to bring the perpetrator of the dastardly act to book by all means.
“In compliance with the CP’s order, the DPO and his men swung into action, and their efforts led to the arrest of the suspects namely: Lukman Taiwo, 30; Taiwo Babalola, 29; David Gbenga, 25; Wasiu Olaegbe, 24; Ojo Aliu, 30; Taofik Sulaimon, 24; Jamiu Taiwo, 31, and Igwe Ofosile. The police recovered from them a toy gun and assorted charms.
“On interrogation, they all made confessional statements to the fact that they decided to kill the victim after robbing him of his money because they were all known to him.”
Oyeyemi added that the CP had ordered the transfer of the case to FSARS for further investigation and prosecution of the suspects. He also appealed to members of the public to assist the police always by giving them necessary information that will enhance the effective performance of their duty.
