Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), acting on credible intelligence, intercepted a sum of N49 million at the Kaduna airport, on Tuesday.
The money was concealed in five black-coloured 750kg sacks.
The consignment was intercepted during routine baggage screening at the airport.
The five sacks, which were without tags, were left unattended at the time they were discovered.
The bags were found to contain crispy N200 notes in 20 bundles, totaling forty million naira and N50 notes in 180 bundles, totaling nine million naira, with the seal of the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Plc (NSPM).
No arrest has been made.
