The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has released suspected cyber fraudster, Ismaila Mustapha, alias Mompha.
Mompha regained his freedom today, about two weeks after he was re-arrested by the anti-graft agency in Lagos.
NewsmakersNG learnt that Mompha had consequently withdrawn the N5 million fundamental rights suit he filed against the EFCC to challenge his re-arrest.
Mompha, who is answering N32 billion fraud charges before the Federal High Court in Lagos, was re-arrested on August 14 when he went to the EFCC office in Ikoyi, Lagos to reclaim his belongings, including five wristwatches, one Apple Air pod, one iPhone 8 mobile phone and one pair of sunglasses, seized from him by the anti-graft agency since last year.
Justice Mohammed Liman in a July 24 ruling had ordered the EFCC to release the items to him.
