The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Dr. Halimat Adenike Tejuosho, the South West Zonal Women Leader of the City Boy Movement, wanted over allegations of obtaining money by false pretence and related financial offences.

The Commission, in a public notice circulated nationwide, said Tejuosho, 41, is being sought in connection with an alleged fraud involving the procurement of funds under questionable circumstances.

It urged members of the public with credible information on her whereabouts to report to any EFCC office or the nearest police station.

The notice, which carried her photograph, listed her last known address as House A26, Aso Grove Estate, Maitama Extension, Abuja.

The declaration comes months after she was previously arraigned before the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Maitama, Abuja, alongside another defendant in an amended six-count charge bordering on alleged obtaining by false pretence involving about N603.4 million, reportedly linked to claims of facilitating a high-level appointment within the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC).

She had pleaded not guilty, and the matter was adjourned for hearing of a bail application.

Before the latest development, Tejuosho had been publicly profiled as a businesswoman and philanthropist, and was named in 2023 by The Guardian among its list of 50 Most Impactful and Award-winning Female CEOs, in recognition of her reported leadership across multiple ventures.

She is also associated with the Haleems business group, with interests said to span agriculture, real estate, energy and integrated services, while her Queen Adenike Tejuosho Foundation has been linked to humanitarian programmes including scholarships and food support initiatives.

Within political circles, she is known as a women leader in the City Boy Movement, where she has been involved in grassroots mobilisation and advocacy for youth and women participation in governance.

The EFCC stated that investigations are ongoing and appealed for public cooperation in tracing her whereabouts.
