The 11 Ward leaders of the Labour Party (LP) in Esan Northeast Local Government Area of Uromi Edo State, led by Elder Evans Unuabor (aka Foremost leader) have passed a vote of No Confidence on the LP Chairman in Esan Northeast Local Government Area, Mr Patrick Obehi Onogbenin, and his executives over allegations of recklessness, misappropriation, and anti-party activities.
In the same vein, the ward leaders unanimously passed a vote of Confidence on Chief (Barr) Friday Ibadin, the Senatorial Leader and leader of Obedience Edo State for what they described as his leadership qualities.
NewsmakersNG was informed in a statement issued by the Caretaker Committee that Edo Central Senatorial Caucus Treasurer, Mr. Joseph Olumese, and the ward executives of Esan Southeast, as well as all leaders in the LGA jointly passed the Vote of No Confidence on the erstwhile LGA Chairman over alleged Financial Misconduct, autocracy and anti-party actives.
According to Mr Osunbor Idemudia Emmanuel, identified as the foremost Leader of Labour Party Esan Southeast LGA who is now elected as the acting Labour Party Executive Chairman Esan Southeast, Ubiaja, the allegations included the collection of N50million from one of the aspirants in Esan Southeast fondly called Mr triple-A, and others including an aspirant called Rice man and Earnest Abegbe. The aspirants were allegedly assured of tickets after making gifts of 3 cars.
“During the Primaries, Agboga committed many treasonable acts to our LGA. Agboga has also driven many party members away for confronting him, his presence as the former LGA Chairman has done more harm than good for the Party and the LGA,” Emmanuel said.
The party leaders have further directed Mr Ehiagwina Henry Ebhomhen to take over the affairs of the LGA, in an acting capacity pending when a new Executive is put in place.
